Van Cleef & Arpels has launched a collection of high end jewels utilizing some of its finest gemstones that is iconic to the Van Cleef and Arpels name.  To coincide with Paris Fashion Week for autumn/winter 2014, Van Cleef & Arpels launched its 'Pierres de Caractère Variations’ by designer Alfredo Arias.  

100 pieces of jewelry were introduced with a theme divided into three thoughts that can be construed as fantasy, whimsical and good luck.

These incredible pieces focus on exceptionally rare and colorful stones. One of the highlights of the collection was the Oriental Princess necklace. It contains 42 volcano eruption-like rubies from Mozambique totaling more than 40 karats.

A piece of retro of a Van Cleef favorite reemerged with the Zip Elegance necklace. Encrusted heave handily with jewels, it was reworked from the original 1951 Van Cleef & Arpels design. Fastening like a real zipper, it is plastered with white cultured pearls, diamonds and further embellished by onyx and red coral. It’s versatile to take off the neck and wear as a bracelet too.
